Med endringer i klima og derfor endringer i naturen rundt oss, vil det skje forandringer i måten vi lever på som vi fortsatt ikke ser rekkevidden av. Det vante og kjente utfordres av noe vi ikke helt aner konsekvensene av. Dette skaper en gryende uro i oss.
Celloen har noe menneskelig ved seg, synes jeg. Den mørke og melankolske klangen i dybden, og den intenst skinnende klangen i høyden, kan avspeile sider av den uro vi alle føler på.
Et annet aspekt med "forandringer" er hvordan jeg som komponist gjennom årene har forandret min måte å komponere på. Cellokonserten er mer intuitiv enn mange av mine tidligere verk. Jeg planlegger mindre og følger i større grad mitt musikalske instinkt.

The climate changes will make the nature around us change. Still, we don't know exactly how this will affect our lives. What is known to us is challenged by something we do not fully realize the consequences of.
This creates a growing unrest within us.The sound of the Violoncello has something human about it, I think.
The dark and melancholic sound in the depths, and the intensely shining sound in the heights, can reflect aspects of the unrest we all feel.
Another aspect regarding "Forandringer" is the fact that I have changed as a composer over the years.
I am becoming more intuitive than I used to be. I do less planning and rely more on my musical instinct.
