Arctic Funk ble komponert våren 1991 på bestilling fra Tromsø Brass og daverende dirigent Tor Godal. Stykket har blitt mye spilt siden den gang og har vært en gjenganger på konsertprogram både i inn- og utland.

After composing «Introduction» in 1989 and «Entrada» in 1990 I got a new commission on an introduction-piece (in 1991), this time from Tromsø Brass. Tromsø is a city in the north of Norway, but despite the cold and snowy winters, it is famous for it´s night-life!
In Arctic Funk you might get a feeling of a party that take place between ice-rocks and snow-wrapped mountains.
